Life of ANTONIN-MARIE MOINE

 Advertisements

French sculptor and painter. He was a pupil of Pierre Rvoil in Lyon, then of Anne-Louis Girodet and Antoine-Jean Gros at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris from 1817, initially studying painting. He showed an early interest in the sculpture of the French Renaissance, and many of his works have a linear grace that owes much to the school of Fontainebleau and the sculpture of Cellini.
